DIY: Pig Roast

Just in time for the end of summer, when it’s too hot to cook indoors and there’s still time to spend long evenings with friends, we unveil the DIY Pig Roast Spit! This particular idea comes from OnlineMetals customers and we love it!
whole-hogWe recently learned that a number of customers are making their pig roast spits out of our 304 stainless tubing. Pig roast “experts” recommend that the tubing be no more than 1″ in diameter to easily accommodate the animal without manipulating bones.  Also, when stretched out the body will be much longer than anticipated so you should have at least a 5 foot long stainless steel spit.

Adjustable prongs can be moved to accommodate various sized animals for roasting.

It is also ideal to have a means of securing the pig to the spit, such as the prongs on this example pictured.
