He’s been an Online Metals customer for over a decade at this point. We knew he’d done some beautiful things with our Nickel Silver sheet, so we asked for pictures of his guitars that we could post on blog. And wow, did John come through! He sent us some stunning images from three even more stunning projects. Check them out!
For this guitar, he used nickel silver plate as a full pickguard. Then he hand cut a Celtic knot motif into it and polished it all to a high gloss.
I’m particularly fond of the rippled green finish and the thistle on the neck. It’s not surprising that he does such amazing work though. A quick glance through John’s portfolio shows that he’s always been skilled with surface finishes… and every other aspect of making guitars.
Here’s a different project where he also used more nickel silver. In this case, it’s used as a pickup trimguard, with a brushed finish.
And for this other project, it is also a pickup trimguard. But this time overlayed with Abalone shell. The luster of the nickel silver shines through the thin layer of Abalone and the highly polished edge sets off the whole thing.
Further up on that same guitar, he used the nickel silver sheet. Again, overlayed with Abalone, as a truss rod cover on his peghead.
All of John’s guitars are hand-built and can be seen at www.johnpageguitars.com
Thanks John, these are amazing!!!
